Who We Are

AIWT (Australian Institute of Workplace Training) is based in Perth, Western Australia. AIWT is a leading Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that delivers quality courses both to international and domestic VET students. We have been educating and training both domestic and international VET students since 2003. At AIWT, we expect our VET students not just to learn, but also grow.

Our courses are tailored to our VET students, ensuring that they receive the best training and that they are ready to face any challenge in the future. Our journey as a recognised education leader began with Early Childhood, School Age and Vacation Care and Education Support. Our long history has allowed us to build strong industry links within WA and beyond.

In recent years, AIWT has added quality course programs in Work Health and Safety, Leadership & Management and Community Sector Management to allow VET students to further their education or specialise in a specific field of study. Most recently, we have added Translation and Interpreting to our course offerings. Specialising in Mandarin/English, we have established an inspirational and industry experienced training team of NAATI accredited Interpreters and Translators.

We constantly work with industries so we always have a finger on the pulse of the economy. We need to know what businesses want, currently and in the future, so we can prepare our VET students to be in ready and in demand to meet those needs.

Support is also always available to VET students. We understand how difficult it can be to be away from home, changing careers, working and studying at the same time or any of the many curveballs that life throws at us. Our VET students are part of our family, and we are here for them.

In 2017, AIWT enjoyed a burst of new energy, with the introduction of a new owner and management. New strategies were put in place, however, our dream remains the same and to accomplish these dreams, we have recognised our Vision to be:

Unique Learning Environment
AIWT believes that the best teaching is as much about the trainer’s passion to teach as it is about the VET students’ reasons for wanting to learn. Motivating VET students to learn is important, but teaching them how to learn, and doing so in a manner that is relevant, meaningful, and memorable is critical to the AIWT philosophy. At AIWT we strive to prepare VET students for a long and fulfilling career providing workplace specific and practical training in a range of courses. This said, VET students are a part of the AIWT family and graduate with more than just a qualification. At AIWT making VET students welcome and supporting their learning endeavours is an integral part of AIWT’s success.

VET Student Events
At AIWT, we believe that playing is as important as learning. Events are organised throughout the year to celebrate Australia, as well as our diverse cultures. We are very fortunate to have students from all over the world where we can showcase what we have to offer in Australia but also to learn from our students. Be it Christmas, Easter, Chinese New Year, Harmony Day, we are always looking for a reason to celebrate.

Premier Location
AIWT is located in beautiful sunny Perth, the capital city of Western Australia. Our campus is located in Perth City. The campus is situated in close proximity to public transport such as the FREE City CAT buses, train and bus services. Our campus is also close to shops, cafes and restaurants.

Flexible Learning and Support
To suit the many requirements of our VET students, AIWT provides a flexible learning experience. Whether it is face-to-face, fast-paced, self-paced or through traineeship, we provide a training approach that includes hands-on experiences, online resources, written tests, assignments and observed simulated practice. Our teaching staff are available to assist you to excel and achieve greater heights in your chosen area of study. They also bring to their classroom a wealth of teaching experience, industry knowledge and a unique approach to delivering world-class education and training.

The AIWT Teaching & Learning philosophy is based around a unique learning experience:

  At AIWT we like to treat all our VET students as part of the AIWT family. This means that we care for our VET students not only when it comes to their studies but also regarding their general well-being. Our staff are trained and prepared to assist VET students with a range of non-academic concerns.
• Work Ready
  VET Students have the opportunity to participate in a range of in-house programs that support the development of professional skills. AIWT aims to have VET students ready for a diverse and changing workplace where professionalism equates to respect and integrity.
• Practical Training
  The link between classroom theory and workplace practical is highlighted. VET Students can undertake work placements and be better prepared to enter the workplace with real-world experience. VET Students also have opportunities to talk with industry representatives and discuss relevant contemporary workplace issues.

Facilities

City Campus

Our city campus is located in the heart of West Perth in a modern & vibrant facility. Classrooms are fitted with air conditioning, whiteboards, comfortable sitting arrangements, projectors, wifi and ample lighting that fosters a great learning environment.

This campus has kitchen facilities and a student lounge for VET students to relax. Our common sitting area offer VET students a place to socialise while on a break in between lessons.

The campus is situated in close proximity to public transport such as the FREE City CAT buses, train and bus services. Our campus is also close to shops, cafes and restaurants.

Our Student Services team is available to assist VET students with advice and information on enrolment enquiries, academic issues, personal circumstances, payment of fees, course loads, policies & procedures and any other way we can assist.

Vic Park Campus

Our Vic Park campus is located in the vibrant suburb of Victoria Park in a welcoming and modern learning environment. Classrooms are equipped with air conditioning, whiteboards, comfortable seating arrangements, projectors, wifi and ample lighting to support an engaging and positive learning experience.
